PS Plus free PS4 and PS5 games list for November 2020: Shadow of War and more


(Pocket-lint) – Each month, PS4PS4 Pro and PS5 owners who subscribe to Sony’s PlayStation Plus service get to download and play a great selection of free games.

PS Plus is PlayStation‘s online gaming service, which provides access to multiplayer gaming and other benefits, including money off many digital purchases. It also gives a great line-up of free titles that would usually cost a packet.

PlayStation 5 owners also get an added bonus of 20 classic PS4 games to play on their next-gen console through the PlayStation Plus Collection. And, an additional free native PS5 game for good measure.

A PS Plus subscription usually costs £6.99 per month, £19.99 for three-months or £49.99 for a whole year’s worth.


Here are the free PS4 and PS5 games for November 2020:

On all consoles

These games are available to all PlayStation console owners, they can be downloaded and played on a PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War

  • Available: 3 to 30 November 2020

Quite possibly the best Lord of the Rings game around, Shadow of War followed-up Shadow of Mordor superbly. It casts you again as Talon, but this time giving you control over numerous denizens in your quest to disrupt the evil plans of Sauron.

Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition

  • Available: 3 to 30 November 2020

This 2D adventure platformer is as cute as it is clever. The handdrawn-style graphics are superb and there is a lot more depth to the gameplay that initially apparent.

On PS5 only

These games are only available to PS Plus members who own a PlayStation 5 or PS5 Digital Edition.


  • Available: 12 November 2020 to 4 January 2021

Bugsnax is a brand new adventure game that debuts on PS5 as part of this month’s free games. Developed by the team behind Octodad, it is as silly and funny as it is engrossing.

PlayStation Plus Collection

The PlayStation Plus Collection is a line-up of 20 classic PS4 games available to download and play on PS5 through backward compatibility. In some cases, they will have boosts to the loading times and graphical performance on PS5 (ie. frame rates).
