Genshin Impact developer miHoYo officially reveals the first banner that players will be able to wish for during the 1.1 update.
As of the time of this writing, Genshin Impact players are only two days away from the release of the game’s massive 1.1 update. While many players are excited about the various quality of life improvements that will come with this update, others are far more eager to obtain the new characters that are being added. And in an effort to stimulate this excitement, miHoYo has now officially revealed the first banner that players will be able to wish upon in the new update.
The new Genshin Impact event banner is called, “Farewell of Snezhnaya,” a clear reference to the banner’s lead five star character, Tartaglia “Childe.” Along with Childe, players also have an increased rate of acquiring another one of 1.1’s new characters: the Cryo mixologist, Diona. Besides these two new additions to the game, players will have a higher rate of pulling both Ningguang and Beidou as well.
This event banner will go into effect on November 11 following the 1.1 update. And while some fans are disappointed that Zhongli and Xinyan (the two other characters being added in this patch) are not being featured, miHoYo has announced that they will have their own event banner where players will have an increased summon rate at a later date.
This confirmation by miHoYo seems to give some veracity to a leak that occurred less than a week ago. A Redditor had leaked images of what appeared to be the upcoming event banners, however, they lacked who the five star character would be. The first image showed Diona, Ningguang, and Beidou (which was accurate for this first banner), while the other features Xinyan, Chongyun, and Razor. With this first event being confirmed, it seems that players can likely look forward to a very Claymore-centric banner once this first one expires.
While there is technically no way to guarantee which character will be acquired when wishing in Genshin Impact, some players may wish to begin preparing themselves for the 1.1 update as best they can regardless. This will require farming various character ascension materials like Cleansing Hearts and Starconches for Childe, and Hoarfrost Cores and Calla Lillies for Diona.
Genshin Impact players may also want to consider farming Crystal Cores. Version 1.1 features some improvements in regards to the game’s infamous Resin system. One of these improvements is an item called Condensed Resin, which players can craft with a Crystal Core, 40 Original Resin, and 100 Mora. This new item seems to be aimed at players that don’t play every day but would still like to be able to quickly grind in a single day.
Genshin Impact is available now on PC, PS4, and mobile devices, with PS5 and Switch versions also in development.
