Justina and Sasha Get Their Respect
Justina and Sasha took things back to the very beginning to recreate their cha-cha back from Week 1.
The energetic numbers — set to Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” — is a fantastic demonstration of the actress’ growth, and gets a lot of love from the judges.
“Girl, you know how to bring it. Every time you hit the hardwood floors, you light them up on fire like nobody else. You have something that is different than anyone because you fire in a different way… and I love your fire!” Carrie marvels.
“Justina, I said it week one, and I’ll say it again, you’re exploding with charisma and energy, and you’re so sensational to watch,” Derek adds.
The pair end up earning three 10s for a perfect 30 out of 30 — an incredible improvement 11 weeks after earning a 21 out of 30 when the season premiered.
Nev and Jenna Recreate Their ‘Black Swan’ Moment
For their repeat dance, Nev and Jenna decided to remake their big breakthrough paso doble from Villains Night, and they managed to surpass even their first flawless performance.
“That dance was perfection the first time, it was once again perfection, no doubt about it,” Carrie Ann praises the pair.
“You switched the characters, and you created even more dramatic structure. More intensity, it was more thrilling, and you killed it!” Bruno adds.
Like before, Nev and Jenna earned three perfect 10s for a perfect 30 out of 30!
Nelly and Daniella Samba With Spirit
Nelly and Daniella decide to recreate their Week 5 Samba, and they knock the dance out of the park!
The lively number – -set to “Rhythm of the Night” by DeBarge, is a perfect showcase for how much Nelly has grown as a dancer, and he impresses the judges with his charm and enthusiasm.
The pair end up earning three 9s for a total of 27 out of 30 — a remarkable improvement from the first time they danced this number.
Also, Nelly won everyone over in the world when he revealed how he’s using his time on the show for a good cause. The rapper explained he’ll be auctioning off all the bespoke dance sneakers he’s worn throughout the season and donating the proceeds to a charity that provides shelter and sanctuary to teens who have been the victims of sex-trafficking.
So, yeah, Nelly’s pretty great.
Flawless Once More
Kaitlyn and Artem once again hit it out of the park!
The were flawless the first time, and they pulled it off again, earning three 10s for a total of 30 out of 30!
Kaitlyn and Artem Repeat Their Argentine Tango
For their first dance of the night — their repeat dance, in which they recreate one of their favorite dances from the season — Kaitlyn and Artem took to the stage to try and recapture the magic of their Argentine Tango from Week 9.
Set to a cover of Britney Spears’ “Toxic,” the pair deliver a wildly impressive show of talent. And while it may have been a risk to to and recreate a dance they got a flawless 30 out of 30 for, it seems the judges like it even more this time around.
“Wow. Kaitlyn, what a perfect dance to remind people that you deserve to be here, and that you are a true contender for that mirror ball trophy,” Derek marvels.
“It was so intensely sensuous. I’m tingling all over,” Bruno adds. “The detail, if it is even possible, was even better this time around.”
“I’m so glad you chose to do this dance again, because this was the dance where you went from being an amazing dancer to an unforgettable, exquisite [dancer],” Carrie Ann shares. “This is now one of my top three favorite dances of all time.”
Then Tyra once again misled us into thinking we’re gonna get their scores, only to throw to a commercial break. Fantastic.
